Orbital ATK receives Rolls-Royce award

Orbital ATK Inc, a developer of aerospace and defense technologies, has been awarded the Rolls-Royce chief operating officer (COO) award for work performed by the company’s aerospace structures division (ASD) in Clearfield, Utah.

The award is presented to a supplier selected from the Rolls-Royce supplier base by the COO for exemplary performance. The award was based on Orbital ATK’s customer support on the Trent-XWB program.

‘We are honored at being selected, out of Rolls-Royce's entire global supply chain, as the recipient of the chief operating officer award,’ said Steve Earl, vice president and general manager of Orbital ATK’s aerospace structures division.

ASD was awarded the Rolls-Royce COO Award two years after winning the 2013 Rolls-Royce Aerospace Supplier of the Year Award. The Supplier of the Year award was given for overall program execution results in producing composite aft fan cases for the Trent-XWB-84K engine program.
