Nuna 6 will compete with 30 other vehicles in the 2011 World Solar Challenge in Australia in October. The team hopes to be the first to cross the finish line of the 3000 km race, a feat it has already achieved four times.

The bodywork of the Nuna 6 consists entirely of a composite sandwich structure containing ROHACELL polymethacrylimide (PMI) foam core material from Evonik Industries, Germany.

At just 145 kg, the vehicle is the lightest that the Dutch team has ever built, and about twice as light as the first Nuna model of 2001.
