New composites repair course

The National Composites Center (NCC) has announced new dates for its composites training courses, including a new course entitled Introduction to Composites Repair.

‘As the use of composites grows across different industries, the need for effective repair and maintenance is becoming increasingly important,’ the NCC said. The course, taking place from 8–9 September 2020, is aimed at technicians and engineers who are new to composites repair or would like to strengthen their understanding of the essential principles of composites repair. It will cover theoretical knowledge and practical experience of the most common types of damage, damage detection methods and different types of repair.

Other courses being run from August include Introduction to Composite Mold Tool Production, Introduction to Manual Prepreg Techniques and Appreciation of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) for Composites. All courses are led by composites specialists and involve a combination of classroom-based theory and hands-on practical work at the NCC’s facility in Bristol, UK, with strict social distancing guidelines will be in place for all courses, the NCC said.
