New composites oven for aerospace

AIC Group has delivered an advanced composite processing oven to Terma Aerostructures A/S in Denmark.

Terma is a supplier of products with capabilities for the aerospace, defence and security sectors.

AIC says that the oven can work to aerospace material specification pyrometry standard AMS2570E and has improved temperature uniformity and increased energy efficiency. It uses AIC’s PLC control system (AMCS) which provides heating, cooling and vacuum control to predetermined profiles. The software interface is integrated into Terma’s network to allow seamless data transfer and sharing.

The oven will be used for the production of advanced aircraft components and achieves a maximum temperature of 365°F with a controllable dynamic heat-up rate between 3°F- 8°F/minute and cooling inlet and exhaust damper assembly with power exhaust produce cooling to 60°F. Air circulation is controlled via AMCS.
