Solvay has introduced new adhesive and surfacing technology for the aerospace industry.
According to the company, AeroPaste 1006, 1009 and 1100 adhesive pastes and BR 179 non-chromate primer can help increase part assembly efficiency and have improved processing flexibility.
AeroPaste epoxy-based structural paste adhesives can provide a film-like property and performance, comparable to leading film adhesives on the market and has been designed to enable rapid assembly and automation in the aerospace industry.
BR 179 is a non-chromate primer which Solvay says provides corrosion resistance comparable to benchmark chromated primers. It reportedly offers improved tolerance to primer thickness variations, better mechanical properties and usage flexibility, and has an out-life of up to 180 days.
