NCC formulates support for SMEs

The National Composites Centre (NCC) and Composites UK, the trade association for the UK composites industry, are working together on delivering a package of support for SMEs.

Companies eligible to apply for support include start-ups, micro companies and SMEs with less than 250 employees. They can have access to the following services:

  • A team for a response to queries
  • A ‘pay-as-you-go’ price structure for access to NCC capability
  • SME Support Fund ‘credits’
  • SME oriented events in different regions across the UK
  • Information packages that link to external sources and providers
  • Opportunities to participate in demonstrator projects to provide physical case studies showcasing UK SME products and capability.

The partnership also looks to create a network of companies that can help deliver some of the support through the supply chain. The aim of the partnership is to strengthen and grow the UK composites sector by helping to bring technology through to industry.

‘We're working with the NCC to deliver a more comprehensive package of support for SMEs,’ said Stella Job, supply chain manager at Composites UK. ‘We can help these companies identify technical challenges that they need to solve to move forward/grow their business.’

Companies in the UK interested in finding out more regarding the SME program can contact Nigel Keen at the NCC on nigel.keen@nccuk.com or by calling 0117 370 7600.
