NCC focuses on Net Zero

The UK’s National Composite Centre says that its 2022/2023 research program will focus on achieving Net Zero.

The global initiative, which focuses on cutting greenhouse gas emissions to as close to zero as possible, could be achieved by developing “sustainable ways of using advanced materials”, the center said.

It plans to work with its members to make composites more sustainable and develop testing methods to use hydrogen as an alternative, zero-emissions fuel source.

Other research topics include using composites in structures that require fire resistance, improving manual manufacturing with digital immersivity, and using 3D printing for manufacture with recycled materials.
