Sicomin says that it has supplied its GreenPoxy bio-based resins for a range of natural fiber composites manufactured by Greenboats, a German developer.
Greenboats makes a range of marine and industrial products aiming at using 100% renewable and sustainable raw materials in sandwich composite structures. It has developed materials for the FLAX 27, an 8.2 m daysailer designed by naval architects Judel/Vrolijk & Co. The hull, deck and internal structure of the vessel were infused with Sicomin’s GreenPoxy InfuGreen 810 resin and flax fiber reinforcement fabrics, Sicomin says.
Vacuum infusion with Sicomin’s InfuGreen 810, produced clear natural fiber laminates with improved mechanical properties, according to the company.
