Spain's MTorres group of companies specialises in manufacturing and automation systems for the aerospace, wind energy and other sectors. Products for composites manufacture include tape laying machines, and cutting and milling machines. MTorres supplied GKN Aerospace with automated fibre placement machines to manufacture the composite wing rear spar of the Airbus A350 aircraft. The company has a workforce of 500.
Pacifica Engineering, Bothell, Washington, provides tool design, engineering and design/build services to the aerospace and defence industries and has 55 employees.
The combination of the two companies´ technologies and personnel will result in a product offering covering most of the aerospace manufacturing and assembly process, and the services that MTorres and Pacifica are now able to provide to their clients, mainly in the US.
Final closing of the transaction is pending on regulatory approvals.
