The wind turbine blade supply agreement is an extension of the strategic collaboration initiated by LM Glasfiber and Goldwind at the beginning of 2007 and involves an 1100 MW increase in shipments of wind turbine blades for Goldwind’s 1.5 MW wind turbines from 2009 to 2012.
In order to supply the wind turbine blades to Goldwind, LM Glasfiber will establish a composite wind turbine blade factory in Qin Huang Dao in North East China. The Qin Huang Dao blade factory is designed to become LM Glasfiber’s largest facility in China and the first phase is expected to be commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2009.
LM Glasfiber specialises in the use of glass fibre composites for wind turbine blades and is headquartered in Kolding, Denmark.
