Lectra will showcase its solutions for the automation of development and production processes and its software for product conception and design for industrial fabrics on stand D48 in Hall 4.

Cutters for composite materials

In April 2009, Lectra launched the Vector FX Extended fabric cutter. This equipment is designed to meet the needs of companies cutting very long pieces of composite materials, in sectors such as wind turbine blade manufacturing and aerospace.

The system is able to cut pieces up to 4.2 m long. The maximum height of compressed material is 2.5 cm.

This model can also be fitted with an inkjet printer or a labelling system to ensure the traceability of cut pieces.

Design

DesignConcept TechTex is Lectra's solution for product design and development for industrial fabrics. It enables manufacturers to create virtual models, run feasibility analyses, develop templates, and estimate costs, resulting in reduced time to market for finished products.

The new version of DesignConcept TechTex (V4R1), launched at the end of 2008, offers an automatic marker-making module which estimates fabric consumption and related costs according to the customer’s business setup.

Conference

The AVK conference on 26-27 October signals the opening of Composites Europe 2009. On 27 October at 2:35 pm, Wolf Schaedler, Sales Manager for Lectra Deutschland GbmH, will give a presentation on Computer-controlled cutting technology for fibre composites. The talk will include a demonstration of DesignConcept software.

COMPOSITES EUROPE 2009 takes place in Stuttgart, Germany, on 27-29 October.
