Lanxess has reportedly raised its prices for adipic acid.

Chemicals company Lanxess has raised its prices for adipic acid to €90 per metric ton. Adipic acid is used as a precursor for the production of polyamide 66 based fibers and technical polymers, and for the synthesis of polyester polyols for polyurethane systems and thermoplastic polyurethanes, the company said.

According to Lanxess, the price increase is due to the significant rise in raw material costs over the past months.
