JEC reveals awards finalists

Airborne and SABIC have been nominated for a digital composites manufacturing line which converts thermoplastic composite tapes into lightweight laminates at high speed.

JEC has published the names of the 30 finalists of its JEC Innovation Awards, which reward composites manufacturers for partner involvement in the value chain, technicality and/or commercial applications of innovations.

This year the 30 finalists have been selected by an international jury of experts in 10 categories, including a new 3D category.

‘3D printing plays a new role in our industry,’ said Franck Glowacz, innovation content leader at JEC. ‘The combination of lightweight, resistant materials that allow great design freedom, with a technology that allows complex shapes, is of interest to manufacturers. […] Due to the very high level of the nominees, the JEC Innovation Awards ceremony should be very rich! ‘
