JEC announces start up competition

JEC says that Start-up Booster, reportedly the largest start-up competition in the field of composites, is now open with a deadline for submission in December.

The 10 selected start-ups will have direct access to the composites industry during JEC World 2018, 6-8 March 2018, in Paris, France, and three will be provided with an 18m² stand for JEC World 2019, as well as a promotion package worth €10,000, and €3,500 to cover the costs of their participation in 2018.

They will also have access to a pitching session in front of a jury and industry leaders and a winners’ ceremony.

 ‘One of the JEC Group's missions is to spot composites innovations at their early stage, and help them grow, to improve the industry and every end-using segment,’ said Frédérique Mutel, president and CEO of JEC Group.

The competition targets start-ups, SMEs & academic spinoffs covering two categories:

  • Process: Design, Manufacturing, Digitalization / Industry 4.0
  • Products: New materials including hybrid materials, bio-sourcing and intelligent composites, new market applications.
