Innovate UK commissions composites survey

UK organizations Innovate UK and Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN), The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and High Value Manufacturing Catapult (HVMC), have commissioned an independent econometric survey of the UK Composites industry base.

Market research consultants Lucintel, who will conduct the survey, say that its aim is provide BEIS with authoritative and up to date evidence of the current and projected value of the UK composites industrial output since the last survey, published back in 2015. The report will also provide new market data and trends that to help the UK government make investment decisions, Lucintel said.

Another aim of the report is to identify attractive emerging technologies and, through investments, improve the UK’s ability to compete in the global composites market, according to the consultant.

The project is expected to be completed by Q2 2020, with findings to be shared through the Knowledge Transfer Network with UK industry bodies.
