IDI Composites, which makes thermoset molding compounds and composites, has expanded the capacity of its tank farm used for the storage of resin materials.
According to IDI's process engineering manager, Mark Stephenson, the tank farm expansion was important to support market development of the company’s Flamevex, Alluralite, Fortium and Ultrium composite materials.
The materials have been designed to serve specific industry needs such as high flame retardancy for battery covers in electric vehicles (EV) and new energy vehicles (NEV) markets as well as improved external appearance, high strength and impact resistance.
