ICI starts production of composite modular homes in South Carolina

The production line is designed to produce up to 5 000 000 ft2 of composite modular homes annually.

ICI, headquartered inToronto, Canada, is commercialising a patent protected line of composite products targeting the transportation and prefabricated modular housing markets. The company currently has affordable housing projects in various stages of development in over 12 countries.

Production of the first EcoScape homes on the new line is expected in early April.

The EcoScape design is based on ICI's Structure Lite™ Panels. These composite panels are constructed from glass fibre reinforced polypropylene skins and a honeycomb core.

Commercial shipments of the modular homes are expected to take place in early May, followed by a steady ramp-up of production over the coming months.
