The developer of the offshore wind farm, E.ON, says it will be located 8 km off the Holderness Coast in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The wind farm will consist of up to 77 offshore wind turbines.

E.ON has already been granted onshore planning consent for a new substation on industrial land near Salt End. The substation will connect the offshore wind farm to the national grid via 30 km of underground cable.

Chris Huhne, Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, says: “A new wind farm off the Humberside coast will be a further jobs and investment boost for the region, hot on the heels of Siemens’ announcement of plans to develop the Port of Hull.”
