Huber announces price increase for fire retardant additives

The increase will be effective 1 January 2012, or as contracts allow.

Huber Engineered Materials, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, says price increases will be in the range of 3-8% depending on product grade, packaging and freight terms.

ATH and magnesium hydroxide non-halogen fire retardant additives are used in a variety of reinforced plastics, engineering thermoplastics, cast polymer, and other applications.

“Huber continues to work diligently to improve productivity and processing efficiencies to minimise the impact of continued rising raw material, energy, packaging and freight costs,” says Don Mills, Director of Sales for the Huber Fire Retardant Additives business unit.

“Unfortunately, despite these efforts, a price increase is necessary to ensure the high level of product quality and consistency and industry-leading service our customers expect.”
