Gurit receives damage payment from Zoltek

Following the denial by the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit of Zoltek's petition for rehearing on 2 December, 2008, the US district court enforced Zoltek's appeal bond on 3 February, 2009, and ordered that Zoltek's surety pay the outstanding judgment plus interest. The original case arose from the 10 year supply agreement between the then Structural Polymer Group and Zoltek of Bridgeton, Missouri, USA, for the sale of large filament count carbon fibres, an agreement Gurit claims Zoltek repeatedly was in serious breach of.Gurit of Watwill, Switzerland, terminated the agreement, which led Zoltek to file a lawsuit alleging that Gurit’s termination was in breach of contract and amounted to fraud. Last autumn, the US District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri dismissed this second lawsuit.
