Röchling Glastic Composites, Cleveland, Ohio, USA, says the product has been tested and proven in various applications as a hollow profile or foam-filled with a weight of about 5 lbs/ft. Maximum bending on a 6.5 ft long length at 50 lb/ft2 load is only 0.5 inch.
The profile comes with Röchling’s Easy Snap-fit System which allows for continuous widthwise assembly.
Glastic Corp was aquired by the Röchling Group in 2007. Röchling now has four composites production locations worldwide working collaboratively. The linking of technical, production and sales networks has enhanced Röchling’s capabilities and provided increased production flexibility. Röchling's pultrusion sites have more than 1000 different dies in regular operation, most of which are interchangeable between locations.
Glastic is best known as a producer of electrical insulation for low and medium voltage electrical equipment such as transformers and switchgear. Since its acquisition, the new Röchling Glastic Composites has concentrated on broadening the range and markets of both moulded products and pultruded applications. Cooperative efforts within the Group have resulted in the development of sophisticated custom profiles for various projects throughout the world.
“We see a lot of potential synergies for innovative applications within markets such as transportation, windows, corrosion and ballistic protection," Jim Azzarello, Sales Director of Röchling Glastic Composites, confirms.
"This is also mirrored in continuously increasing sales in the US as well as in exports.”
Röchling Glastic Composites products are available from Röchling companies in France, Great Britain, Germany, China, Singapore and India, as well from authorised distributors in the US and throughout the world.
