GKN expands Mexico facility

GKN Aerospace has reportedly expanded its composite manufacturing plant in Chihuahua, Mexico, by 80,000 ft2.

This follows increased demand from the business jet market, the company said. The expansion is expected to be completed by the end of 2023 and could create 100 new jobs.

The Chihuahua facility currently supplies structures for aerospace customers including Airbus, Gulfstream, and Honda Jet.

“We are proud to partner with the government of Chihuahua on this project, which will not only support GKN Aerospace’s growth strategy, but create jobs and prosperity in the local aerospace supply base,” said Mauricio Herrera Murillo, site director, GKN Aerospace.

GKN Aerospace operates three facilities in Mexico.
