Formaplex acquires AS9100C accreditation

Composite parts manufacturer Formaplex says that it has secured AS9100C accreditation for manufacturing and machining composite components for aerospace, defense and space industries.

‘With a strong history for manufacturing complex composite and aluminium components, achieving the AS9100C accreditation will increase our business potential and further our approval within these sectors,’ the company said in a press release.

A NADCAP level 8 climate controlled clean room provided by Formaplex has also recently been approved and a new Maroso 6m x 3m autoclave has been installed which will cure large composite components for the aerospace, defence, automotive and motorsport industries.

Formaplex has also invested in a Belloti 5 axis CNC milling machines for precision engineering of tooling and large composite and aluminium components, such as wing structures, up to 4 m in length. The additional machinery has increased production capacity.
