According to Evonik of Essen, Germany, ROHACELL structural foam combined with carbon or glass reinforcement gives rigid and lightweight composite parts capable of withstanding “extreme stresses.”ROHACELL is a closed cell PMI rigid foam used as a core material for composite sandwich constructions. According to Evonik, it offers “the best ratio of weight and mechanical properties as well as highest heat distortion temperature” compared to other foam cores. It is used in a wide variety of applications ranging from mobility to sports and recreational equipment, medical technology, aviation, communications to construction.
