Element Materials Technology has expanded its environmental testing capabilities at its Denver, Colorado location. This includes a new thermal vacuum chamber which can test to extreme temperatures and pressures, from cryogenic temperatures to 150°C, and pressures of up to 1 X 10-7 Torr. The expanded facilities also have product qualification testing (PQT) of components and a range of materials testing (MT) services, including sterilization/decontamination for space applications. ‘There is significant demand within the local aerospace market for more extreme testing capabilities,’ said Rick Sluiters, Element’s executive vice president, Aerospace. ‘Following this investment, we now have a fully comprehensive set of capabilities in environmental testing demonstrating our commitment to the Aerospace and Defense supply chain.’ Element’s Pacific Northwest locations provide a full range of environmental testing capabilities to RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD 810 and ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standards, as well as holding a number of Aerospace Prime and supply chain approvals.
