Dow Automotive can now offer under 60-second molding cycle times for high pressure RTM or wet compression with the resin matrix, enabling the mass production of carbon fiber composites.
‘Our novel formulation enables ultra-fast infusion and curing, while its super low viscosity also increases part consolidation potential in structural automotive composite production,’ claims Peter Cate, global strategic marketing manager at Dow. ‘With this new system we can meet the demand of automotive OEMs to achieve affordable lightweight manufacture of true high volume part production.’
The company will be exhibiting the new resin system at JEC.
