The company says that the services offered to customers are for the planning of new bonding processes or the optimisation of existing ones, as well as troubleshooting. The application engineering testing capabilities can to be run in most cases without the need for the involvement of a third party laboratory, claims the consultancy.

The facilities include laboratory-scale dispensing and curing of different adhesive systems, as well as the measurement of key properties. These include Shore hardness of cured adhesives and bond strength through the use of a tensile testing machine. Testing can be undertaken after exposure to high or low temperature or after various accelerated ageing tests.

The company adds that determination of the load bearing capacity of adhesive joints, for example during the bonded joint design process, is of critical importance. The main objective is to ensure that the load bearing capacity is always above the actual applied load under all relevant conditions during the full life cycle.
