Composites One, the Closed Mold Alliance and Magnum Venus Products, have partnered with the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI) to run four courses in 2016 focused on advanced process and materials.
A public-private partnership, IACMI is one of five organizations comprising the National Network of Manufacturing Innovation, which is supported by the US Department of Energy’s Advanced Manufacturing Office.
Composites One and the Closed Mold Alliance will lead four two-day schools in advanced composites technologies at IACMI locations across the US. Sessions include:
Process & Advanced Materials Workshop – 5-6 April in Knoxville, Tennessee
Intermediate Processing & Wind Energy Workshop – 14-15 June in Denver, Colorado
Process & Advanced Materials Workshop – 9-10 August in West Lafayette, Indiana
Process & Automotive Market Advances in Composites – 1-2 November in Detroit, Michigan
The schools will cover advanced and closed mold processing, out-of-autoclave production, additive manufacturing (3D printing) lightweighting of products, prototyping, selecting systems and equipment, advancements in composites and high performance materials, data acquisition, modeling and simulation. Instructors include process experts from Composites One and the Closed Mold Alliance.
