Composite lab opened in China

Hexcel, along with composites companies Progen and Future Aerospace, have opened a joint venture laboratory and aerospace materials testing facility in Shanghai, China.

The 1,000 m2 center, called Future Aerospace Hexcel Commercial Composite Testing Limited (FAHCCT) will provide a range of technical services, including support with materials qualification for commercial aircraft programs, the company says. It will also cover mechanical and chemical testing of composite laminate specimens, including fatigue performance and material qualifications.

The lab was awarded AS9100 certification in May 2019 and will work on existing and future aerospace customer specifications, accofrding to Hexcel.
