DSM says that the new Synolite™ 7524-N-1 FC resin has a high content of raw materials derived from renewable resources and is produced in line with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) (an internationally accepted quality control system for the production, testing and use of materials that come into contact with food and drinking water).

DSM continues to build a portfolio of resins based on renewable raw materials. We would like to offer the composite industry a secure source of supply, providing a sustainable operation now and in the future. The fact these resins are made in line with GMP will provide end-users with peace-of-mind, so they can enjoy the place they live and work.

With this resin Spanish company Compac was able to create a new range of artifical stone products in a range of colours, suitable for food contact applications – the Compac Bio Technological Quartz Collection™.

“We are finding architects and private home owners becoming more conscious about the environment”, says Bernardo Ros, Marketing Director at Compac. “This translates in a desire for natural colours and surface effects, but also in a choice for materials originating from nature. The combination of the thorough understanding of consumer drivers by Compac, and the material expertise of DSM, has been instrumental for generating a unique touch and feel.”
