Ceramicx offers free IR heat training courses

Ceramicx is now providing four levels of free training in Infrared heat technology.
Ceramicx is now providing four levels of free training in Infrared heat technology.

The course is devised by Dr Gerard McGranaghan and is suitable for all those in the composites and reinforced plastics industries who are seeking to further understand the IR heating process and who also have specific manufacturing projects in which IR heat plays a key part.

‘We have designed the four modules so that users can simply pitch in at their existing level of expertise,’ says McGranaghan.

“All disciplines in industry - sales, installation, design - can benefit from IR heating knowledge. We have designed these courses so that the user can learn at his/her own pace and accordingly to put you and your company’s IR heat know-how on a sound and professional footing. The material will cover the very basics to theoretical aspects, to practical industrial situations, with a few tips and tricks along the way.” The Ceramicx courses can be taken online, or as a taught classroom course. The first module covers the basics of infrared, but combines this with a refresher on heat transfer. The second module builds on the industrial aspect with an introduction to some of the key processes that utilise infrared heating methods, as well as introducing some more theoretical aspects applicable to IR.

Module three deals with matching various IR elements - ceramic, quartz, glass etc - to the application. This module aims to marry the knowledge of IR with knowledge of the process a pre-requisite for the successful outcome of any infrared installation. In addition some practical tips are also included. The fourth module is on the control of Infrared and includes temperature sensors and basic concepts of electronic control systems.
