The wheel structure is moulded as a single piece and built in two sizes – 19 x 8.5 (15.4 lb) and 19 x 12 (17.9 lb) – designed to mount directly on Porsche 911s.

Australian company Carbon Revolution says the carbon fibre composite wheels are compatible with factory tyre pressure monitoring systems, accept factory centre caps and come complete with all required installation hardware.

Carbon Revolution reports that its composite wheels are 40-50% lighter than premium OEM equivalents and can improve car performance in several ways. The company reports that fitting a set of its lightweight CR-9 wheels is equivalent to:

  • adding horse power to the engine (increased acceleration);
  • increasing the size of the brakes (shorter stopping distances);
  • fitting stickier tires (improved grip);
  • upgrading the suspension (steering and handling improvements);
  • adding more sound insulation to the vehicle (reduced road noise); and
  • reducing vehicle mass (fuel savings).

Carbon Revolution carbon fibre wheels will be sold through select speciality tyre and wheel retailers, performance tuners and high end boutique car dealerships worldwide.
