BASF says that, with immediate effect or as existing contracts permit, it is increasing the price of its neopentylglycol (NPG) material.
The price increase is + €150/ton (MT) in Europe, + US$180/ton (MT) in Asia (not including China), + US$180/ton (MT) in South America and + US$0.08/pound (LB) in North America.
According to the company, NPG is an intermediate used, for example, to produce polyester resins for coatings, unsaturated polyester resins, lubricants and plasticizers. In North America BASF markets it under its Neol brand.
