AVK Composites Germany has announced the winners of its coveted Innovation Awards 2016. This year, the awards were accorded in three main categories as well as a special prize for an ‘exceptionally attractive employer’.
The Innovative Products and Applications category recognised the achievements of Daimler AG and its partner company Secartechnologie in the development of FRP hybrid struts for applications in the automotive sector. Fraunhofer IPA and its partner bauer-tools were awarded first place in the Innovative Processes and Methods category for their counter-drilling process for high precision drilling of aircraft materials, while the award for Research and Science was won by the Seat of Carbon Composites at the Technical University of Munich with its partner company Dekumed Kunststoff- und Maschinenvertrieb GmbH & Co. KG for their high performance ultrasonic mixing head for low-pressure injection moulding plants in composite processes. In addition, the AVK’s special prize for an exceptionally attractive employer was awarded to the company Textechno GmbH & Co KG for the first time.
