ASTM composites committee elects chairman

The committee includes more than 240 technical experts who develop standards for the aerospace industry and civil infrastructure, as well as marine, automotive, industrial, recreational and medical products made with advanced composites. Sawicki also chairs the D30.90 Executive Subcommittee and has served as recording secretary and vice chairman of D30. Sawicki joined Boeing in 1990 as a mechanical and structural engineer. He became associate technical fellow in 2002 and technical fellow in 2007. His work focuses on aerospace structural analysis, primarily on rotorcraft and commercial aircraft products. ASTM International is one of the largest international standards development and delivery systems in the world.
