Airbus and SIAEC form JV in Singapore

Airbus and SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) have finalised their new joint venture maintenance and overhaul company in Singapore.

The new company will be named Heavy Maintenance Singapore Services Pte Ltd (HMS Services) and will begin operation in December. SIAEC holds a 65% equity stake in HMS Services with Airbus holding 35%.

The new company will provide airframe maintenance, cabin upgrade and modification services for Airbus A380, A350 and A330 aircraft to airlines in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. HMS Services will work with Airbus to be designated as the manufacturer’s Centre of Excellence for Heavy Maintenance for the A350 and A380 in the region.

SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) is a provider of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services in the Asia-Pacific region, with a client base of more than 80 international carriers and aerospace equipment manufacturers. 

Airbus widebody aircraft are popular in the Asia-Pacific region, with almost 700 aircraft currently flying with over 40 airlines on everything from high density regional flights to the world’s longest commercial services.
