The system has been applied to the team’s production autoclaves used in the process of building its Formula One race cars. AIC has also completed servicing and calibrating the company’s autoclaves and ovens at its Operations Centre as part of a multi-year contract.

AIC has replaced the now obsolete Autoclave Manager with the new AMCS system which provides simpler operation across all of the team’s autoclaves and delivers higher reliability and reduced energy useage in the production of composite material.

The total autoclave maintenance programme covers: heating and cooling systems; vacuum pump; air circulation fan and motor; door operation and interlocks; controls and electrics; and pneumatics.

Nigel Clifford, AIC’s Head of Sales, said: “We are pleased to be supporting the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team in this extremely competitive industry. AIC has an expert multidisciplinary team of engineers who can keep plant running efficiently and effectively, which is important in all industries but absolutely vital in the world of motor racing.
