Data is provided on the annual production of glass fibre reinforced composites in the US from 1999 to 2009. The figures are also broken down in terms of the principle markets for composite materials.

Overall US domestic production of glass fibre reinforced composites has been falling steadily in recent years.  In 2008 it stood at 1.38 billion kg as opposed to 1.86 billion kg in 2005. The construction and marine sectors have been the hardest hit over the past four years. On a more optimistic note, the demand for glass fibre reinforced composites in wind energy, aerospace and corrosion markets continues to grow.

With more than 850 member companies, ACMA maintains that it is the world's largest composites industry trade group.
