A350 XWB wing lower and upper covers built with Hexcel prepreg

Last month the first flyable upper and lower wing covers for the A350 XWB were transported from Airbus sites in Stade, Germany, and Illescas, Spain, to Broughton, UK, where the aircraft wings will be assembled.

The A350 XWB lower wing covers are said to be the biggest single civil aviation parts ever made from carbon fibre composite, measuring 32 m long by 6 m wide.
