3M Matrix Resin is said to produce stronger, lighter, more durable composites. The resin is offered by 3M Engineered Products and Solutions, a department within 3M Industrial Adhesives & Tapes Division. In November last year 3M introduced 3M Matrix Resin 3831, an epoxy resin designed for carbon fibre prepreg applications.
TenCate Advanced Composites produces thermoset and thermoplastic prepregs which are used in various markets, including aerospace, marine, oil and gas, and infrastructure.
3M is also looking into additional applications for the 3M Matrix Resin product line, including those in sports and recreation, and industrial markets.
