Weckx studied Mechanics at the Technisch Instituut Heilig Hart in Belgium, specialising in composites and plastics processing. He has worked as a product development engineer for several companies in the composites industry and has built up broad experience in processing of thermoplastic composites.

Weckx will be manager of the new SS&A composites laboratory, near Brussels, Belgium, focusing on client projects.

“I believe that the composite industry is full of innovation and opportunity," says Weckx. "I want to continue working with composites and, hopefully, develop some new and interesting products and applications for our clients. Our composites laboratory will facilitate the development of these new ideas.”
