Menzolit, based in Heidelberg, Germany, is a manufacturer of sheet and bulk moulding compounds (SMC/BMC) with a strong presence in the automotive industry.

Menzolit says that although its plants are part of the Plastal group, they are not directly linked with Plastal’s operations. Menzolit will therefore go on with its operations and business as usual.

Plastal says the insolvency came as a result of “a severe liquidity crisis due to the sharp downturn in the automotive industry and the distressed financial markets.”
