Gibson Fiberglass announces price increase

03 November 2009

Gibson Fiberglass has announced a price increase for glass fibre direct and multi-end roving products, chopped strand, chopped strand mat, woven roving, and all other roll goods.

Gibson Fiberglass says the increase of 15-18% per pound (lb) applies to all shipments delivered on, or after, 1 January 2010.

The recent recession has been a burden on the entire composites industry, but fibreglass manufacturers have been particularly hard hit," says Joe Peng, President of Gibson Fiberglass. "Our energy costs, manufacturing costs, raw material costs, and logistics costs have not dropped significantly during this period. This increase is necessary to help cover the costs increases we are experiencing in these areas.”

Gibson Enterprises Inc, headquartered in Irwindale, California, USA, is a supplier of glass fibre reinforcements and fabrics to the reinforced plastics industry.
