Paste products for large tools

11 October 2009

RAMPF Tooling and Amber Composites have developed a new system of tooling paste which is reported to deliver significant reductions in time and cost for manufacturers of large composite parts.

The new tooling paste has been under development and testing at RAMPF Tooling for more than a year. It is said to enable direct tool creation, completely bypassing plug production.

The tooling paste was developed through collaboration with Amber Composites, RAMPF Tooling’s exclusive UK distributor, and select customers. It has been used to create very large tools by  manufacturers of boat hulls and decks, as well as large components for use in the transportation industry.

The new tooling paste, part of RAMPF Tooling’s RAKU-TOOL® range, complements its line of epoxy and polyurethane close contour pastes.

RAMPF Tooling, headquartered in Germany, offers a range of board materials, Close Contour Pastes and tooling resin systems. The company will be exhibiting at Composites Europe 2009 in Stuttgart, on 27-29 October (hall C2 booth A04). Amber Composites will also be present to support UK customers.
