Monitoring corrosion of composite tanks

06 March 2009

Fibermaq of São Paulo, Brazil, has released a monitor measuring corrosion of composite tanks.

Fibermaq’s Spirit is designed to measure the residual thickness of the corrosion barrier of composites tanks by performing a wall rasping, which indicates the extension of damages caused by an aggressive environment and the appropriate repair depth.

"It alerts tank users… about the correct time to execute a maintenance stoppage", says José Batista de Andrade, Chief Executive Officer at Fibermaq.

Spirit's concept was designed by Antonio Carvalho, Market Development Manager at Reichhold.
