Composite anti-slip offers weight reduction

03 March 2009

The glass fibre reinforced (GRP) composite LAMILUX Anti Slip from LAMILUX Heinrich Strunz GmbH offers weight reductions over wood, and strong rigidity.

Particularly suitable as a coating on floors in the logistics and transport sectors, the LAMILUX Anti Slip has been awarded ‘top marks’ when tested in accordance to DIN 51130 and can be adjusted to achieve an anti-slip rating of R13.

The anti-slip quality is obtained by adding a layer of grain (quartz sand, granite granulate, plastic chips) to the surface of a solvent free, high-performance polymer resin and glass fibre composite material during the lamination process. The grains are added while the surface is still in liquid form.

LAMILUX Anti Slip is approved as a food safe material and has a high resistance against corrosion, oil, water and frost. When manufactured with optional multi-axial fibre reinforcement, it offers good tensile strength and adds stabilising properties to “any kind of sandwich construction” – even in thin layers.

The material can be made in any colour and with customisable textures in widths up to 3.2 m. It can be used as flooring in truck superstructures, truck trailers, containers, delivery vans, vending trucks, trailers and toy haulers.
