Interplastic announces price increase

12 August 2009

Interplastic Corporation’s Thermoset Resins Division is raising the price of its CoREZYN® and Silmar® brand products, including its vinyl ester and polyester resins and gel-coats.

The price increase of US$0.08/lb is for shipments on or after 29 August 2009.

“The recent sharp increase in crude oil and derivative products has put increased pressure on the price of all polyester raw materials," explains Steve Wetzel, National Sales Manager, Interplastic. "In particular, styrene monomer has significantly increased three months in a row. We can no longer absorb these increased costs and must pass a portion on to our customers.”

Interplastic’s Thermoset Resins Division is the manufacturer of CoREZYN and Silmar brand unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester, speciality resins, gel-coats and colorants for the composites, cast polymer and solid surface industries. Interplastic Corporation is headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA.
