Premier 45 makes its debut

The Premier Composite Technologies (PCT) conceived and built Premier 45 performance cruiser made its debut at the BOOT 2013 trade show in Düsseldorf in January.

The boat features a lifting keel option and interior design concept by Snohetta.

The boat’s hull is an E-glass/carbon fibre sandwich structure produced using the infusion process. Like the hull, the all carbon composite deck is manufactured from PCT-built female moulds. PCT’s giant 5-axis milling machine ensures very tight tolerances throughout the tooling process, which is all completed in the same factory.

“We are expecting the Premier 45 to be fast,” comments Marcelino Botin of the yacht’s designer Botin Carkeek. “It is quite a light boat with a hull based on the TP52 concept, with a wide, powerful stern section, but with high stability. But it is a cruiser, very fast for her size.”

“And for us as designers, it is great to have a high tech composite cruiser built in the very controlled environment that Premier has,” he adds. “It ensures that the boat comes out close to the design weight, and hence to the performance we expect.”
