Construction composites worth US$3.1bn in 2013

26 January 2009

The European construction market for composite applications is estimated to reach US$3.1 billion in 2013, according to consultant Lucintel.

Applications such as doors, windows, rebar, cooling towers and utility pools could drive the growth for composites during the forecast period. Even though the market for general construction is down globally, the demand for application such as composite doors is estimated to be very strong as market penetration strengthens versus competitive products.

Some market segments including bridge decks, bathtubs and swimming pools could show relatively slow rates of growth, but not segment is projected to show a five year decline in the period up to 2013.

The research report Opportunities for Composites in the European Construction Market 2008-2013: Trends, Forecast and Opportunity Analysis includes market size estimates for the top 12 composite applications in the European construction market, an analysis for composites opportunities, competitive analyses for various applications, trends and forecast for composites applications, and growth drivers.
