Premix extends capacity with new moulding press

13 June 2009

US moulder of composites products Premix is extending its manufacturing capacity with the addition of a 2000 ton compression moulding press.

Premix, based in North Kingsville, Ohio, USA, now has 49 presses, ranging from 100 tons to 2000 tons. The new Macrodyne 2000 ton press is designed for moulding large components from sheet moulding compound (SMC). It can handle moulds that are 120 inches by 96 inches in size. Premix says it is ideally suited to manufacture of home and garage doors, components for wind turbines, housings for solar panels and solar dishes, larger chassis for the automotive, agricultural and recreational products, and other high-volume parts.

Premix is a manufacturer of thermoset composite materials and custom-moulded components, serving the construction, renewable energy, transportation, aircraft, electrical and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industries.
